Preparing America’s children to learn and thrive in a rapidly changing world.
Since 1969 the NEA Foundation has served as a laboratory of learning, offering funding and other resources to public school educators, their schools, and districts to solve complex teaching and learning challenges. The foundation believes that when educators unleash their power, ideas, and voices, everyone benefits.
THE CHALLENGE
To mark its 50th anniversary, the NEA Foundation invited Good Thinking to help it celebrate its work preparing America’s children to learn and thrive in a rapidly changing world. GTA was asked to create a stand-alone branded campaign that excited its 3.5 million members and positioned the NEA Foundation as the unquestioned leader in public education innovation in the coming decade.
THE OUTCOME
Approximately 1,000 educators and their guests attended the 2019 Gala in Washington, DC. Hundreds of thousands of dollars were raised through The NEA Foundation’s 50th Anniversary Yearbook website.

Good Thinking’s 50th anniversary campaign for The NEA Foundation was designed as a transparent, dynamic, 8-color logomark. The 50 form morphs into a series of abstract images, which we call tanagrams, representing The NEA Foundation’s mission and values.
The campaign launch was enhanced by GTA produced videos, original music, animations, portraits, a campaign website page, print, and commemorative give-aways at the February 2019 gala.
