Framing the fight against mass incarceration, the death penalty, the criminalization of poverty, and racial injustice in the South.

The Southern Center for Human Rights (SCHR) is a nonprofit, public interest law firm dedicated to providing legal representation to people facing the death penalty, challenging human rights violations in prisons and jails, seeking through litigation and advocacy to improve legal representation for poor people accused of crimes, and advocating for criminal justice reform on behalf of those affected by the system in the Southern United States.

THE CHALLENGE

The SCHR brand identity no longer reflected the organization’s reputation and breadth. Its website design also was overburdened with vital but poorly organized casework and information. We aligned SCHR’s visual presentation with its high profile, helping to reframe its leadership in the minds of state and national supporters.

THE OUTCOME

SCHR funding and casework has expanded 33% since the launch of this new brand in 2013.

Framing the fight against mass incarceration, the death penalty, the criminalization of poverty, and racial injustice in the South.
